These days, there is a podcast for every possible topic, and that includes every aspect of parenting, too. A fantastic resource for new parents (and those who’ve been in the trenches for a while!), parenting-themed podcasts can be hilarious, sometimes poignant, educational and always informative. Here’s a few of our favorites:
The Longest Shortest Time
Originated by author Hillary Frank after the birth of her daughter, The Longest Shortest Time has become one of the most popular podcasts out there, as it features interviews with parents on every type of topic. As Frank asserts, the voices on her program remind us all that each stage of childhood (however challenging) does pass, and at the end of the day, we’re all in this together.
The Boob Group
Breastfeeding? This is the podcast for you. The Boob Group is a podcast that supports new mothers in the success and struggle of breastfeeding, as well as society’s impact on how they feed their babies.
Spawned
From the creators of Cool Mom Picks, a go-to resource for new kid-related products, Liz Gumbinner and Kristen Chase talk about everything from life with teenagers to summer camp decisions and tips on how to get back into the workplace after baby. They’ve also featured interviews with everyone from Lisa Loeb, on the state of children’s music, and political life with Anne Holton, the wife of Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate, Tim Kaine.
TedTalks Kids and Family
TedTalks in general are an amazing way to gain knowledge on something that’s always interested you. We love the way they’ve broken down their family section, making it easy to search through topics like “Talks by Fierce Moms, ” and “Talks that Celebrate Sweet Dads,” to our personal favorite, “Talks to Watch When Your Family is Driving You Nuts.”
The Modern Dads Podcast
We haven’t forgotten you, dads! The Modern Dads Podcast shares stories and discusses issues that fathers face navigating work, parenthood, relationships and play.
