Gwen was diagnosed with multiple complex heart defects the day after she was born. At five days old she survived her first open heart surgery, then remained in the hospital overcoming complications from that time until her next surgery at 3 months old. All and all, after two heart surgeries, five trips to the OR, and spending her first seven months of life in the hospital, Gwen finally got to come home and will be turning two years old in March.
