On April 3, 2020, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Ezekiel Eliaz Gutierrez. He was born with a heart disease that failed to be diagnosed during in utero. When he was born there were signs that showed something was wrong with his heart. He was grey/ blue, he was clenching his hands as well as retracting his stomach. Soon after birth, he was diagnosed with Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return (TAPVR). A heart disease that’s almost impossible to see through ultrasound and almost always goes undiagnosed. He spent his whole 9 weeks of life in the CICU. He fought hard and surprised his medical team time and time again. He passed away due to his condition. I’ll hold him in my heart forever, and will forever be blessed to hold the honor of being his mommy.
