I am the mom of a two-year-old little boy who has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. His name is Daniel. He was born April 2nd, 2018 to what I believe was going to be a healthy baby. 5 and half hours after he was born my life changed as I was you’d something is wrong with my baby’s heart. About 10 hours old he was life-flighted to a hospital 3 and half hours away. I was discharged as well so I headed to the hospital where he was. At just 3 days old my son underwent his first open-heart surgery. He was in the o.r. for 16 longs hours. Had many complications afterward but he broke out of the hospital 82 days later. He had his second open heart surgery at 5 months and 4 days old. His surgery and recovery were a lot easier this go around. He is due to have his third and final planned surgery this summer in June or July! He is the happiest little kid I have ever met!
