Our son, Luke Hudson, was born on August 12, 2020. On the day we were leaving the hospital, the staff picked up on a murmur and decided to do an echo on our little guy. The moment we got results back will be one of the most devastating days of my life. They told me “Luke has two holes in his heart that won’t resolve on their own, he will need open-heart surgery”. The days, weeks, and months that followed were so incredibly hard. He was diagnosed with DORV with VSD and mild pulmonary stenosis. He struggled and I mean REALLY struggled to thrive. It was so hard as a mom not to be able to fix what he had with a kiss or a bandaid. He finally was able to have his surgery on January 11th, 2021…a day before he turned 5 months. He is now THRIVING and doing everything he could possibly dream of doing and I, as a mom, could FINALLY breathe again. He is our sweet miracle babe and I am so incredibly thankful for him!
