Maurice was born with Congenital Heart Disease, he underwent open-heart surgery to correct TAPVR only hours after birth. He was transported downtown to Texas Children’s hospital and on the way, in the ambulance, he coded twice. Once the surgery was corrected he struggled to gain weight, was on several medications, and doing therapy all in hopes he would recover and we would be able to take our sweet boy home. While at the hospital we found out that he had an abnormally rapid heart rate up to 300 beats per minute and we were told he had SVT. Fast forward, in a few months, we will be celebrating his second heart anniversary and celebrating him and all he has accomplished. We are incredibly proud of our Heart Warrior and how far he has come.
